Our Little Kay Kay

It sure has been the journey so far with our brand new little girl. She has been tough. But little by little we are figuring her out more and enjoying the moments. Her smiles and coos make it all worth it!
And there are moments like these where you just giggle. I have to be careful putting her down for a nap with bows in her hair. She has monkey arms that get loose from her swaddle and they end up doing all kinds of damage.
A couple of weeks ago we had newborn pictures taken. They turned out so cute and I was so happy with them. A much better experience than what we had with Emmett.

The only down side was sitting in a very toasty room (95 degrees) so she would be comfortable getting her pictures taken. Let's just say Nate had a hard time with it.
But he was a good sport about it all.
A few pictures of our sweet little girl...

Can't wait to see what you will be like! One thing is for sure, you are quite the DIVA!

Oh she is so beautiful! I hope she continues to get better with the crying. When Benson was really fussy a lady in my ward said her son was the same way and the only thing that would help him was to get a hot pack and put it on his stomach. I never did I just nursed him when he screamed so he got really chubby :) But could be worth a try. Can't wait to hold her sometime in the future!

I've never been "blessed" with a colicky baby, but I've heard gripe water has helped a lot of people. Does she like a swing at all? I know my sister Megan basically lived in hers as a newborn. I'm sure you've probably tries everything you can think of. Good luck, Karla! This too shall pass!

She is so beautiful! Love her hair! Don't know much about the colic, and hope I never do! But if anyone can do it, it's you! Hang in there momma!

Oh she's beautiful - and I'm laughing about the 95 degree room for the baby pictures. Poor Nate, pretty sure I would have stroked out!

I am SO sorry that she has colic, that's how Meg was, and it was awful.
I tried Gripe Water, I tried the stuff in the dropper (I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called, but you get it in the baby section of water and the lid has a dropper on it), tried putting her on the dryer in her car seat, swing, running water, driving in the car, bouncing her, stopped nursing her and put her on Nutramigen formula, the doc put her on Reglan and something else (can't remember...) and after all that shiz - she just grew out of it at about 9 months old.

So my advice is, get as much sleep as you can, LET people help you, get some Prozac, and maybe start drinking?... :)

Love you so much and I hope she gets over it soon so you don't go insane!

Zantac was the other medicine they prescribed Meg, and the dropper medicine is Milicon. You just buy it at Wal-Mart, anything's worth a try!!

James was terribly fussy until I wen off dairy. I know, sinful. I just tried it for 2 days (100%- no cheating). It might be worth a try? Or if she is formula-fed, and does have a casein protein intolerance than I've heard Nitrimagen (spelling?) formula. You probably get way more advice than you want to hear, but I was glad someone suggested it I me. She is adorable! Sorry for the typos... Editing is hard on this thing. :)

And bless your hearts! I'm also adding that it is hard. And it's okay to say it is. I think people forget when they are not "in it"... Especially the old ladies that say "enjoy every minute!" It is hard day in and day out- and through the night- but you are doing it. You guys are awesome. Awesome people, parents, and examples. When both of mine are screaming I sometimes find myself by the chocolate chips. I don't know how I got there, but it helps...
