Growing Baby Boy

Where is the time going? Little E man is growing up so fast and thinking he is a lot bigger than he is. It's so fun to watch him grow but at the same time it makes me very sad.

He loves sitting and playing with toys. His favorite right now is this awesome race car track with very annoying music that one of our kind neighbors gave to us. Nate and I have caught ourselves singing the ridiculous songs in the middle of the day.
He now can pull himself up. And he thinks it's pretty neat!
A lot of times I will catch him standing up on his race car track...just chillin'.
And of course he is into everything theses days. He loves exploring and still gets around doing a crazy army crawl that is super fast. But his preference is walking with assistance and could do that all day long! My back and hips usually give out before he does.

Here's a sneak peak video of his army crawl. Not as fast as what he usually can do but it's still pretty darn cute.

An Award Well Deserved

You know, when I married Nate I knew that I married way above and beyond me...but each and every day I am more and more in awe. I love it. So the other day I stopped in at his work and his co-worker says to me,"Isn't that pretty exciting about Nate's news?!" I ask, "What news?" And then she proceeds to tell me he got nominated for the "FRIST HUMANITARIAN AWARD" at EIRMC. I guess it's a pretty big award and Nate decided it wasn't worth mentioning to me. Well thank goodness I found out because the next week he was awarded it with 2 other awesome individuals who work for EIRMC.

It's a pretty big and awesome deal. His fellow co-workers submitted his name for the award and his was chosen as one of the winners. He received money to go towards a charity of his choice (he picked Haitian Roots) and of course some awesome and well needed recognition for all his service at his work and in the community. Some of the things they said about Nate was his kindness towards all patients he works with as well as how he goes out of his way to make it a better experience for them. One of the things he has done for patients is a celebration on their last day of treatments. He bought a bubble machine and a disco light and they play some fun music as the patient walks out the door on their last day of treatment. It's a pretty fun experience.

Then at the ceremony they mentioned how he has gone to Haiti 2 different times to make a difference for the children over there. Oh and not to mention he donated a small organ to his best friend. It was a pretty great feeling sitting in the audience and hearing all these wonderful things about my very own husband. He looked super uncomfortable. He hates being recognized but I am so glad he was awarded this awesome recognition!

(And of course he rarely takes a serious picture).
Not only is he an exceptional individual at work and in the community, he is an awesome dad. Even when he gets pooped on and has to clean the awesome mess. (On a side note for those of you who have been wondering, it's been 8 days in a row that the little dude has had a major poop blowout. It's been pretty fun.)
He is such a great dad to Emmett and they love each other so much. Nate is the only one Emmett will cuddle up to and fall asleep with.
Sorry about this post Nate but i think you are pretty amazing and wanted to brag about you!

What the "Poop"

It's been quite the poopy mess at our house...literally. For the past 4 days (and counting), Emmett has had a major blow-out. And I mean major. I've never seen anything like it. We are assuming it's because of the antibiotics he was on and he is just clearing out his system. Needless to say it's been quite comical around here lately.

It all started Friday morning. I was getting ready to leave the house. I pick up Emmett and my arm is suddenly wet. I look down and realize it's poop. Then I look at him and it's all over him. Up his front, up his back, and on his bottom. Of course I was in a hurry and needed to be somewhere. I hurried and placed him on the changing table. It was so bad that no matter how hard I tried, there was no way of getting his clothes off without smearing the stuff all over his body. That's exactly what happened. The worst of it got on his feet. It was everywhere! And of course I am pretty much gagging the whole entire time and he was laughing at me and smiling his cute little innocent smile. Then as I reach to grab about the 40th wipe, he decides to kick his feet and I am not kidding you, poop was flung everywhere...on me and all over the walls. I tried my best to clean him and me and the walls up as best as I could and then I quickly left the house and had to drop him off at grandma's. I later learned I really didn't do a very good cleaning job and grandma was the fortunate one to clean him up some more. When I got home that night and Nate and I are laughing at the events of the morning, I notice a black spot on Emmett's wall and ask Nate if that is a dent. He reached over and touched it and laughed and said it was not a dent, it was poop. Oh goodness.
I think Nate finally really believed my tale that morning and realized it was not an ordinary poopy diaper.

The same exact incident happened the next day (Saturday). We were meeting Brady and Amber at the park with little Benson and as I grabbed Emmett out of the car I realized he had done it again. Luckily Nate was with me and we were able to spread a blanket on the grass and strip the little kid. Again about 40+ wipes were used in the process. Now his little cousin says "Emmett messy poop." You are definitely right Benson.

On Sunday I was prepared. Or so I thought. There was 10 minutes left of church and Emmett starts to grunt. So I immediately pick him up and carry him to the Mother's lounge before anything happens. While I am carrying him the poop is seriously leaking out of his clothes onto my arms and onto my clothes. Seriously?  It was quite the process cleaning him up and of course he decides to cry while there are 2 other moms in the lounge trying to get their babies to sleep. As I am cleaning up the mess one of the mom's says to her little baby (as Emmett is crying), "I know you are trying to sleep." Really? I wanted to say, "Do you want me to leave and clean his messy bum on the kitchen counter? Would that be more convenient for you?" It all turned out and I held my tongue but couldn't hold back the gagging reflex.

I haven't used Shout N' Spray so much in all my life. It's very convenient I might add. But really how can you get mad at the cute little guy when he looks like this about 99% of the time?!
