First Haircut

Emmett's hair has been out of control. I have been begging Nate to let me trim it a tiny bit. (It's bad when his hair is longer than his ears). Nate finally relented and let me trim it. After a lot of squirming on Emmett's part and spitting up multiple times, we were successful with the trim.

His crazy before hair....
 ...and after!!
The evidence. (I kept some in a little baggie).
His hair looks super blonde now. I had a few people in church today ask me if I colored his hair. What?  I think it's pretty cute that his ends are super brown and the rest is super blonde. Super super cute!!!

Christmas Time!

We had a great Christmas and it went by way too quickly! We were able to spend time with the Esplin clan and part of the Robinson clan. And after I looked at all the pictures we took I realized that our little Emmett man is the center of our lives because Nate and I (or the rest of our family) aren't really in any of the pictures. I love it!

We were also spoiled and got a really nice point and shoot camera from Mom and Dad. You can definitely tell the difference between our iPhone pictures and the nice pictures taken with our camera. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Our Christmas adventure started with getting Emmett all ready to go visit family. (His head is growing so big that we have to have him wear a hat everyday before he outgrows them.)
At the Esplin's we played hard and Grandpa and Emmett crashed together.
Then Emmett crashed again after we went Caroling at the nursing home.
On our way to Rexburg we had to stop and see Emmett's favorite little buddy. I hope these two become the best of friends!
Christmas Day! Grandma Robinson made a cute little stocking for our little guy.
 Enjoying his new Jammie's!
Taking a quick nap with dad.
I had to document that I was actually around. Don't know why I am sucking on a cup. Weird.
Grandpa and Grandpa made a "jungle gym" for Emmett so he would have something to play with.
A happy little guy content to play on the floor.
It's hard to think that next year our little guy will probably be into everything!

The Story of the Chubby Cheeks

Emmett's cheeks are just so cute that I think I squeeze them on a regular basis. Sometimes I have to check to see if he is hiding anything in his mouth. And somedays they just look gigantic. Check out these cute (but horribly bad quality) pictures....

First there's the happy cheeks. With lots of cute dimples everywhere.
 Then there's the Eskimo cheeks.
And then there's cheeks we just can't explain.
And finally...just dang cute cheeks that are hard not to squeeze.
When strangers use to comment on Emmett, the first thing was about how much hair he had. Now it's all about his chubbiness. I love it though!

Dad Time

Over this last weekend and earlier this week I got the lovely stomach flu. It was just a pleasant experience. Nate was so great and was such a huge help. He was so cute with Emmett and basically helped me out with everything. Gotta love that guy.

I woke up one morning (I really had no clue one day from the next) and Nate had given Emmett a bath, dressed him up really cute, and combed over his hair.
Which brings me to the next topic...Emmett's hair. It's really out of control these days and we have no idea what to do with it. Most days it looks like this...
While I was quarantined in our bedroom being sick, all I could hear was Nate and Emmett playing and laughing together every day. Nate would play so much with Emmett that the little guy would just fall right asleep from exhaustion. Sometimes under the Christmas tree.
 Guys just being guys.
I love the fact that I am starting to feel better and can actually interact with people and stand up straight. It's a great feeling. But I am also happy Nate was able to spend some quality time with
little E.

It's Beginning...

...to look a lot like Christmas at our house! Even though I haven't gone to the store to buy one single present yet this year, we are at least feeling the Christmas spirit while we're at home.

Our living room is so cozy right now. (Sorry for the bad picture. Again I need a nice camera but I did get to use the cool panorama function on my phone).
And we can't forget cute little chunky Santa!
